Project Requests for the 2012 Social Innovation Program

The Mason Center for Social Entrepreneurship is now accepting project requests for the Phoenix Project's summer 2012 Social Innovation Program from nonprofit organizations and municipal agencies serving Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., particularly those serving distressed communities within the region. The Phoenix Project's Social Innovation Program (SIP) at George Mason University is an intensive academic and experiential leadership program for top undergraduate and graduate students interested in nonprofit leadership and social entrepreneurship.  Students are drawn from a wide variety of national educational institutions, academic disciplines, and interest areas to complete pro bono capacity-building projects for community organizations under the supervision of experienced practitioners in the social sector.

By filling out the form below, you will initiate the process through which the Center's staff seeks to match a student team and clinical faculty advisor.  Successful matches are most common when the project helps build the capacity of your organization while also providing an educational value to students interested in building careers in the social sector.

Example capacity-building projects include (but should not be limited to):

  • Developing marketing plans
  • Creating development plans
  • Integrating technology into business practices
  • Program evaluation and design
  • Needs assessments
  • NOT: Clerical or data entry work

Questions should be directed to info@masoninnovation.org.

Upon submission of the form , please allow several days for our staff to review the form and get back to you to discuss next steps. Thank you for all you do for your community.
