Don't forget to register for the 4th Accelerating Social Entrepreneurship Conference: Accelerating Social Entrepreneurship in the Age of Austerity, to be held November 10, 2011 on George Mason's Arlington, VA campus.

The conference will tackle how governments, organizations, educators, and students are finding solutions to society’s greatest challenges in an age of limited resources. Announcing the First Recipients of the Social Innovation Champion Awards

Three social entrepreneurship luminaries to be honored at the ASE conference

The Mason Center for Social Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the George Mason University Center for Consciousness and Transformation, is pleased to announce the winners of the first ever Social Innovation Champion Awards. The awards will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing social entrepreneurship, demonstrated a measurable impact in fostering social change, and displayed exemplary leadership in the field of social innovation. 

The inaugural awardees will be honored at the Accelerating Social Entrepreneurship Conference on November 10 and will receive cash prizes to be awarded to the nonprofit or community organization of their choice.

2011 Winners:

  • Muna AbuSulayman, Secretary General of The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation and the "Oprah of the Middle East"
  • Mario Morino, Founder of Venture Philanthropy Partners
  • Diana Wells, President of Ashoka
